Medic / Safety Officer

BW Offshore is recruiting Medics / Safety Officers for the Catcher Project. Employment will start in Singapore and the UK and extend into Operations in the UK North Sea.

The Catcher FPSO is due to start production about 170 km southeast of Aberdeen in 2017. It will be supported from the Base Office in Aberdeen.


Pre-operations (Yard) phase activities
Perform safety inductions.
Participate in commissioning activities.

Familiarization with relevant systems.
Participate in development of operations manuals and procedures etc.
Participate in relevant training courses.

Operations (Offshore) phase, a summary of key tasks and responsibilities

Medic
Maintain the FPSO hospital, medical facilities, medication inventory and equipment in line with UK best practice.
Provide surgery and consultancy with respect to illness or health related matters and maintain records consistent with UK best practice.
Administer first aid and medical care to injured persons.
Liaise with the Topsides Medical service provider, onshore General Practitioners or medical experts with regard to the care and treatment of offshore personnel.
Prepare persons or casualties for medical evacuation as well as handover of the necessary information to aircraft paramedics and relevant onshore reception centers.
Maintain records, inventories and dispose of controlled substances in line with applicable UK legislation.
Monitor occupational health of persons on board in line with UK legislation.
Perform periodic inspections of provisions, galley, housekeeping and hygiene within the living quarters.
Liaise with Camp boss and OIM to ensure to review food nutrition and quality and ensure that healthy eating is supported and made available.
Champion healthy lifestyles as well as support persons towards achieving personal health goals.
As Heli Admin, Manifest inbound flights and maintain Vantage POB up to date, assign cabins, beds, muster stations and update local muster lists
Member of the Emergency Response Team.



Safety Officer
Monitoring of all HSE related activities and matters in connection with the day-to-day operation of the FPSO.
Actively monitor and uphold compliance with Catcher Safety Case and BW Offshore safety and environmental management system.
Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety Environmental (HSE) legislation.
Provide Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) support and leadership to the offshore organization as required.
Conduct safety induction for new personnel.
Assist the OIM with planning and execution of safety drills and training as well as maintaining records.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and compile the necessary reports and root cause analysis.
Administer the company COSHH database and liaise with shore based service provider.



Rotation
In the yard phase in Singapore rotation will be 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off. Occasional ad hoc travels may be required in order to attend training courses etc.
In the Operations phase offshore UK Continental Shelf rotation will be 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off.

Qualifications
Offshore Medic Training and Certification.
NEBOSH / IOSH is desirable.
3 years of experience on an offshore facility in the UK.
Previous experience as a Medical Practitioner, Paramedic, Registered General Nurse or Armed Forces Medic.
Experience from a Combined Medic / Safety Officer role is desirable.
Previous experience working in a multinational environment is desirable.
Good computer skills.
Fluent oral and written English.

Interpersonal skills
Good interpersonal and communications skills.
Ability to embrace the Catcher culture emphasizing on flexibility, honesty, reliability and open communication.

Other
Resident in the EU or ECC with the right to work in the UK.
