Paramedic Supervisor , Kuwait

Description Position Summary

Supervises and manages multiple ambulance stations on the U.S. bases in Kuwait.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Supervises and directly manages Paramedic Leads for multiple ambulance stations throughout the Area of Record.
2. Responsible for personnel issues of the staff working within area of oversight to include, but not limited to disciplinary action.
3. Oversees staffing and scheduling and in this capacity is responsible for limiting and effectively managing overtime, and ensuring accurate time keeping.
4. Assists training officers in review and assessment of skills of all staff, paramedics and EMT-Bs, working within area of oversight.
5. Responsible for ensuring that the certifications for all staff, working within area of oversight, are current and up to date.
6. Assures quality oversight of EMS operations working in conjunction with the Quality Assurance and Training Program Officers.
7. Provides on scene incident management per ICS/NIMS standards and guidelines.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by the EMS Manager.
9. Will provide coverage during shortages and respond to emergencies as required. In this capacity will administer medical services for patient care within the scope of their training.

Requirements Qualifications

Education Associates Degree is required; Bachelors is preferred

Experience Requires registration at an EMT-P level with the National Registry and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related Management and Administrative experience. Must be AHA ACLS and BLS HCP certified. Certifications in EMS related disciplines such as PHTLS, AMLS, ACLS-EP, PALS, etc. is preferred. Certification in ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 is required. ICS 300 and 400 certifications is preferred. EMS related instructor credentials and ICS L-449 TtT is desirable.

Competencies Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a respectful, collaborative and professional manner. Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably and compassionately in all work situations. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels and cultural backgrounds within and outside the Medical Faculty Associates (MFA). Must be able to do math calculations and input data into the computer.

Supervision Received
Reports to the EMS Manager.

Supervision Exercised
Supervision exercised directly over Lead Paramedic and indirectly to 40 to 50 EMT-Bs and Medics working within the area of oversight.

Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time. Requires manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.

Lift and carry a minimum of 45 lb and be able to collectively lift, carry, and balance patients who weigh in excess of 100lbs. Pull and reach with both hands, crawl, kneel, bend and climb, work outdoors in excessive heat or cold, high humidity or dry atmospheric conditions, equipment and knowledge necessary to protect against excessive noise, dust, fumes, smoke, or chemicals. Equipment and knowledge necessary to protect oneself against radiation and infectious diseases. Knowledge necessary to work around machinery with moving parts.

Typical Mental Demands:
