Job Summary
Attends emergency and non-emergency medical requests as they arise, renders on-site assistance to patients as required.
Performs initial assessment and management of the ill or injured, in accordance to specified protocol and procedures
Prepares or assists in the preparations of patients for transport, ensuring compliance with protocol and procedure.
Inspects and maintains emergency medical equipment, to ensure serviceability and compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards.
Provide emergency medical coverage on out of hospital missions in country, foreign missions and international medical evacuations.

Operational:
Maintain fully-inventoried vehicles, keeping patient care supplies and equipment response-ready, clean and in good working order at all times;
Maintain proper uniform appearance and demeanour at all times.
Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles and equipment at all times, while ensuring a comfortable patient transport and conforming to all applicable safety rules and regulations;
Cooperate fully and courteously with other employees, supervisors, health care, public safety and government personnel in the exercise of their duties;
Conform to all applicable governmental laws, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures and protocols governing emergency medical services personnel,

Team Work:
Promote teamwork which enhances good inter-agency relations; respond to all calls or move-ups quickly and in a safe and efficient manner in keeping with criteria set out in company policy.
Accurately and legibly complete all paperwork required by the hospital and other agencies pertaining to job performance, patient care, patient billing and ambulance response.
Perform other duties as requested by management not necessarily relating to emergency medicine and patient care duties.

Quality & Safety:
Emergency vehicle must be operated in a safe and appropriate manner at all time.
Ensure that the ambulance is maintained in a constant state of readiness to respond quickly to any emergency calls.
Daily checklists must be completed.
The paramedic store must be maintained and kept clean at all times.

Required Skills
Education Required:First Aid Certification

AND Minimum of High School
AND internationally recognized EMT-P course or
equivalent not less than 12 months duration.
Or Bachelors degree or equivalent in emergency
medical technology / applied science.
AND Current national license / certification
AND Evidence of field specific CME

Experience Required :
NLT 2 year experience post registration/ certification
Current ACLS PALS, and PHTLS
Education
1 year EMT-P Certificate / Diploma post high school
