Occupational Health & Safety Lead

Overview:
The Human Capital Employee Health and Safety Lead develops, implements, administers and continuously improves processes in support of a world-class safety culture and incident-free workplace. This position will manage worker's compensation administration and regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a Health and Safety program including leadership commitment, goals and objectives, awareness and communication, training and communication, training and development, employee involvement, audit and prevention, measurement, accident prevention and reward and recognition processes
  • Oversee worker's compensation claims administration, attend worker's compensation hearings and administer any related team training
  • Measure Health and Safety program success through worker's compensation claims while providing recommendations for continuous improvement in organizational safety performance and culture
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and reporting, including collection, analysis, compilation and management of all necessary data
  • Conduct job and environmental hazards assessments and oversee Health & Safety team to identify opportunities and implement interventions
  • Research industry best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory compliance standards, including OSHA and DOL  
  • Lead Employee Health and Safety Team to ensure audit and preventative measures are being taken
The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required
  • At least seven (7) years of experience leading an office health and safety program, including management of worker's compensation administration
  • Experience with OSHA standards, regulations and reporting
  • Experience with corporate wellness leadership
  • Certified Safety Professional designation preferred
  • EMT or CPR Certification preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform comfortably in fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
  • Ability to execute many complex tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
  • Ability to travel approx. 15% of time
