Emergency Medical Technician

Scope of Job:
Provide initial first aid/emergency care for guests and employees while roaming in the park and in a clinic setting.
Requirements and Competencies
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be registered as a Florida State EMT with current license or certification
• Must have at least 1 year practice in clinical setting in Emergency or Critical Care
• Must have Current HealthCare provider certification for CPR/AED
• Must have a valid state driver's license with ability to obtain company driver's license
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to provide exceptional guest service
• Must be able to maintain composure in stressful situations, multitask, make quick decisions, troubleshoot problems with training, and adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment
• Must be able to train on and properly use protective gear
• Must be able to stand for entire shift and walk throughout park and parking lot
• Must be able to walk in sand
• Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, grasp, twist, and turn with complete flexibility
• Must be able to carry up to 35 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds alone; up to 150 pounds with assistance
• Must be comfortable working at heights
• Must be comfortable working in and around water and around animals
• Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be comfortable speaking over a radio
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays

Desired Qualifications
• Previous guest service experience preferred
• Bilingual preferred (Portuguese and Spanish a plus)
• Knowledge of Occupational Health preferred

Primary Responsibilities
• Provide initial first aid/emergency care for guests and employees while roaming in the park and in a clinic setting in a timely manner
• Write proper documentation and reports and keep track of all treatment and care provided
• Actively assist the patient and family members to cope with crisis and stress, and with follow-up and referrals as needed
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and interacting with guests, answering questions and resolving guest issues
• Participate in the coordination and promotion of special health programs (i.e., blood drives, screenings, immunizations, wellness, etc.)
• Review and compile workers’ compensation data for reports
• Perform miscellaneous functions as required including but not limited to general maintenance, organization, and appearance of the Health Services Units, restocking of supplies, cleaning treatment areas, and contacting proper support units as needed
• Maintain open lines of communications with department leadership regarding respective duties, responsibilities, and pertinent issues or concerns
• Participate in compliance training required by the department including evacuation drills and OSHA required training
• Maintain a safe work environment and identify potential safety hazards
• Perform other duties as assigned
