A full-time Holland America nurse:
- Provides nursing care to guests and crew during established clinic hours, and is on call at all times for emergent/urgent medical needs.
- Assesses and triages all guests and crew who require or request consultation,and provides inpatient nursing care to all guests and crew admitted to the ship´s medical center.
- Is able to independently start treatment and stabilize serious/critical patients in emergent situations, e.g. insert IVs, interpret EKGs, administer IV cardiac medications per ACLS protocol.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of care on the appropriate medical records.
- Performs diagnostic tests, X-Rays and treatments and dispenses medications under physician´s orders.
